WEEK 14 LOS PEEKUPS, TRUST IN YOUR PROCESS

Sometimes there are losses that just really gnaw at you. This has been a fairly successful season for me, personally. A great number of my teams are 8-5 and looking good for the playoffs. A couple have even survived significant-to-catastrophic injuries to the likes of Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley and Nick Chubb. Those teams that are headed for postseason play are doing so in good position. Maybe not as favorites, but I’ve been the favorite plenty of times and had my nose bloodied by a #6 seed. Just get in the tournament.

WEEK 13 LOS PEEKUPS, GOING BACK FOR LEFTOVERS

After last week when I almost didn’t write this column because the pickings were as limited as a Thanksgiving turkey carcass after everyone in our Familia had seconds, this week is different. There are players you need for both this week and to possibly help you in your playoff run.

WEEK 12 ADENTRO Y AFUERA, THE OTHER GAMES TO BE THANKFUL FOR

Who else is still experiencing a food hangover? Thanksgiving was awesome, with 3 of my favorite Fs: Family, Food and Football. The Raiders-Cowboys salvaged what was otherwise a tough day of football. We’re going to keep an eye on the injuries for D’Andre Swift and Darren Waller. Salud to Tre’Davious White, the all-world corner for the Bills who tore his ACL in New Orleans. Wishing you a safe and steady recovery. Salud to you.

THANKSGIVING DINNER & SOME WEEK 12 ADENTRO Y AFUERA

One of the great things about our big Familia coming to the U.S. in the 1950s is that we’ve had plenty of time to adopt some American traditions while continuing to honor our Mexican raza.

WEEK 12 LOS PEEKUPS, GIVING THANKS, DIA DE GRACIAS

Familia, I almost didn’t write this column. Not because I was feeling flojo with the holiday week, but because I just didn’t think there were many choices out there that were worth going after with whatever FAAB or waiver priority you have left.

WEEK 11 LOS PEEKUPS, A FAMILIA BIRTHDAY WAIVER WIRE GIFT TO YOU

I love my birthday. It’s coming up Nov. 17, and I’m lucky that my wife and daughters still enjoy making it a special day for me. I like to play it low-key mostly, but really enjoy all the calls, texts and Facebook messages that I’ll see throughout the day.

WEEK 10 DFS, 2ND HALF BARGAIN HUNTING

Week 10, and we’re now officially in the second half of the 18-week regular NFL season. If you haven’t been able to do well thus far in DFS, it’s time to turn the page and make right this week. We have so much more information to make good decisions. Plus, hopefully we’re past whatever it was last week that we saw on NFL fields.

WEEK 10 LOS PEEKUPS & BIZARRO NFL

Last week was muy Bizarro. Just like the Seinfeld episode. Everything was backward. The Jags beat the mighty Bills. The Broncos went to Big D and stomped on the Cowboys. The Titans blitzed the Rams. So much weirdness. As Chris Berman loves to say, “That’s why you play the games.”

WEEK 9 DFS, DON’T LOOK, IT’S A TRAP!

Beware the trap games. Last week the Bengals-Jets were that game. The Texans covered late against the Rams. This week Buffalo goes to Jacksonville and is a 14.5-point favorite. A trap game? Hmmm.

WEEK 9 ADENTRO Y AFUERA 2.0, WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN

The marquees were supposed to be filled with battles that were a reminder of old heavyweight title fights. Mahomes vs. Rodgers. Henry vs. Donald. Even Steelers vs. Bears brings back memories of Mike Singletary, Jack Lambert, Dan Hampton and Mean Joe Greene. None of that is happening this Sunday.
