LOS WAIVERS, WEEK 8: CHASING CHASE 2.0

I’ve been hearing a lot of talk about dropping Cam Newton. Really? Bueno, for a good number of leagues, it makes sense. If you’re in 2-QB or Super Flex leagues, forget about it. Just say no. But in a single-QB league, it has to be taken into account that Cam hasn’t sniffed the QB1 range since his Week 2 blowup against the Seahawks.

LOS WAIVERS, WEEK 7: IT’S TUA TIME!

Here we are. Week 7, pretty much half-way through the fantasy regular season. We’ve learned a lot about teams and players that we were hyping and downplaying during the offseason.

Adentro y Afuera, Week 6 QUARTERBACKS

Now that we’ve got 5 games in, we have a good enough sample size. We know that Aaron Rodgers is much better than many had him projected to be. There’s some question about whether Lamar Jackson was worth the high draft pick. Cam Newton is fairly clearly the best value pick among the QBs.

Los Waivers Week 6: Chasing Chase & Streaming for Dak

As I write this, it’s hard to get the image of Dak Prescott’s gruesome injury out of my head. This is on a par with Joe Theisman (also on MNF), Napoleon McCallum and in baseball, Moises Alou. So glad he got immediate care from one of the leading surgeons, so we’re all hoping for him to attack his rehab as well as he did the Washington defense.

Adentro y Afuera, Week 5 QUARTERBACKS

You bucked all the expert advice to fade Aaron Rodgers, now you’re reaping the benefit. Or you banked on Matthew Stafford building off the dominant 8 weeks he had before his season was derailed due to a back injury. And there are those of you feeling uneasy about Josh Allen’s availability with the Titans-Bills game moved to Tuesday (and hopefully no further out).

Quarter Quandaries: Los Waivers, Week 5

OK, a quarter of the season is in the books. No more talk of small sample sizes. We’ve now had 25% of the season done. These players are either who they are, or well on the way to becoming who they are. What’s interesting, several rookie WR have either already broken out or on the cusp.

Adentro y Afuera, Week 4 QUARTERBACKS

We’re running out of adjectives for the start that Russell Wilson has had up to now. With 14 TDs, no QB in history has hit that mark through 3 games. Patrick Mahomes in 2018. Peyton Manning in 2013. Tom Brady in 2007. Dan Marino in 1984. None of them hit that mark. That’s how incredible this season could be for Wilson.

Who’s Next? Week 4 Waiver Wire

So you blew your FAAB wad on Mike Davis and he delivered. What if you blew it on Devonta Freeman or Wayne Gallman? Well, time for some frugality and judicious bidding the rest of the season. Pero si se puede!

Adentro y Afuera, Week 3

OK, Familia, we’ve weathered the storm. The Week 2 injuries are behind us. We’ve survived the 1,001 different scenarios we had to create to maximize our waiver wire pickups. Now it’s time to take these rosters, many very different than we envisioned just 3 weeks ago, and shape them into winners.

Picking Up The Pieces: Los Waivers, Week 3

Not going to sugar coat things. This is a waiver wire period that could determine your season. If you were hit by injuries to Saquon Barkley or Christian McCaffrey yesterday, it’s time to pick yourself up and figure out the next step. If you didn’t, it’s time to pounce anyway and get some players to bolster your roster for the rest of the season. You can be nice to your leaguemates outside of the competitive arena that is Fantasy Football.
