AYA WEEK 13, SHOWDOWNS & LOWDOWNS PT. 1

Man, do I love a good showdown. When I was a kid, when the Rams played the Cowboys and Vikings, I was keyed up a little more. Dodgers-Reds in the 1970s, those were always playoff-like atmospheres. Lakers-Celtics in the ā€˜80s, honestly, I donā€™t know if thereā€™s a team I hated more than those Celtics.

LOS PEEKUPS WEEK 13, TIME TO GET LUCKY ON THE WAIVER WIRE

OK, letā€™s look at LOS PEEKUPS for Lucky Week 13. Not a lot. Thereā€™s no Ken Walker who youā€™re going to dump all your FAAB to get him. But there are a few players to target if you need some reinforcements. And we all do in our playoff runs. Going quality over quantity here. No streaming D as of now, as none had good matchups that were under 50% rostered in Yahoo leagues. Maybe Iā€™ll pump one out later in the week on Twitter.

AYA WEEK 12 PT. 2, NO LEFTOVERS. JUST PRIME SUNDAY AND MNF ACTION

How was the food coma? I hope there wasnā€™t too much tequila consumed to wash it all down. Did you go Black Friday shopping? Have you been a couch potato watching all the soccer and college football action since Thanksgiving?

AYA WEEK 12 THANKSGIVING DAY DFS FIESTA, DIA DE GRACIA

Is Thanksgiving the best holiday? Well, you automatically get four days off (unless you work in football). The entire holiday is centered around a great meal of indulgence, and hopefully if someone is preparing it, they have access to wine, beer or whatever libation they prefer to have poured for them throughout the day. Then, if youā€™re lucky, youā€™re at a table with the people you love counting your blessings. Sounds pretty good.

WEEK 12 LOS PEEKUPS, SAVING GRACE

OK, youā€™re either fighting for a playoff spot or looking at cruising to the playoffs and picking up some players to either fill in for injuries or deepen your bench. Iā€™m grateful that Iā€™m in more playoff hunts than teams that are out of it. So to help you out for the waiver wire, Iā€™ve got you covered with LOS PEEKUPS.

AYA WEEK 11, PART 2: MONDAY NIGHT LIGHTS IN MEXICO. ARRIBA!

After seeing the celebration of international football in Germany, with a rabid atmosphere and thousands of fans singing ā€œTake me home, country roadā€ like they were in West Virginia, itā€™s clear that the NFL has a worldwide following.

AYA WEEK 11 PT 1: BIRTHDAYS AND SNOW DAYS

Saludos familia, and feliz cumpleanos to me. Yes, turning another year, and if youā€™ve seen the livestream I had yesterday, you know that Orel Hershiser has a connection to the age that I am turning. Iā€™ll let you figure it out and hit me online.

AYA WEEK 10, GRACIAS FOR YOUR SERVICE

This weekend weā€™ll see plenty of NFL coaches wearing fatigue-patterned gear or something to salute the troops. Being related to several people who have served in the military, any kind of salute to service is special.

LOS PEEKUPS WEEK 10, WE SURVIVED

We did it. We had Bye-Mageddon 1.0 and lived to tell. Well, unless you had to face Joe Mixon or Justin Fields with multiple studs sitting out on your bench. Lo siento mucho, familia.

AYA WEEK 9, SURVIVING BYE-MAGEDDON

Yes, we keep hearing about the Bye-Mageddon with 6 teams on bye this week. Your reserve rosters are looking like that NSYNC song. Sometimes those rosters hit, just like when you get a straight on the river in poker.
